Dounreay Cementation Plant Engineering Substantiation

SWA were appointed by Mott McDonald to undertake an engineering assessment of the Cementation Plant, Cell and Drum Stores at Dounreay. The complete facility was assessed to show a capability to withstand a range of extreme environment hazards including:

• 1 in 10000 year seismic, wind, snow and temperature
• Vehicle Impact
• Drop Loads

Finite Element Analysis was carried out on ANSYS and STAAD
