Project Management - Demolition Methodology and Civil Structural Design of New HSE Licensed Chemical Waste Transfer Station
SWA have recently been commissioned to Project Manage and provide specialist advice for the demolition of a licensed waste chemical storage facility damaged by fire and to undertake the multi discipline design a new facility. Main aspects of the work scope can be summarised as follows:
- Detailed examination and inspection of the fire damaged building
- Preparation of outline method statements for the demolition process and sequence
- Liaison with the Health and Safety Executive and Environment Agency to agree key issues of safety during demolition and toxic waste recovery
- Preparation of the demolition programme
- Pre-selection of suitable contractors to undertake the work
- Preparation of tender documentation for the work
- Technical and commercial appraisal of tenders and providing recommendations to the client on contractor selection
- Examination and approval of contractors detailed method statements
- Project and Technical Management of the contractors demolition activities through to completion
- Project and Technical Management of a new purpose designed facility (Ongoing)
